Prof. LeClerc earned her B.S. in Environmental Chemistry from Saint Vincent College and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute under the guidance of Professor Andrew Teixeira and Professor Michael Timko. After her PhD she worked as a Donnelley Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University under Professor Drew Gentner. She joined the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Maine in 2026 as the Elliott R. Barker III Assistant Professor.
Her research group aims to uncover the molecular-level interactions occurring in complex organic waste mixtures to enable near-complete waste valorization to fuels, chemicals, and materials. Her research harnesses high-resolution mass spectrometry as a key tool in developing efficient valorization reactor systems.
She is an active member of the AIChE Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division, serving as a member of the D&I Taskforce and session chair. She is also a member of the American Chemical Society, where she has been awarded an ACS Early Career Postdoctoral Faculty Bridge Grant.
Prof. LeClerc was fortunate enough to receive a Fulbright fellowship to spend time at Aalborg University in Aalborg, Denmark.
